Have you been working long and hard for the past few months? Do you think you deserve a holiday for the long hours you put into your job or your business? Did your son receive a medal for his outstanding performance in swimming class? Did you daughter make you extremely proud in her piano recital? Do you need a beautiful, romantic place to bring your wife to and celebrate your anniversary? Whatever your reasons are, a holiday in Fuengirola, Costa del Sol would be a very good option.
Fuengirola is one of the most famous destinations in Spain for those who need to relax and get away from the routines of a busy schedule. It offers a wide variety of activities for the entire family to enjoy. Here are a few of the activities you must try and places you must visit.
Sohail Castle
Located on a hill in the town’s southwestern entrance, the castle provides a magnificent view of Fuengirola and its majestic seas. The view will truly mesmerize you. As such, it has been known as the town’s symbol. This has also been a common venue of concerts and programs.
Zoo de Fuengirola
Home of more than 1,300 animals, the zoo has been a favorite destination of families. It was opened to the public in 2001 and has since been considered as one of the best zoos in Europe. It has restaurants, shops and play areas so you can enjoy an entire day of fun with the animals.
Water Park Mijas
A few minutes away from the bus terminal and train station is the water park that promises lots of fun with their Adventure River, Labyrinth Slides, Wave Pool, Body Ski and Blue Lake. They also offer discounts to families, groups of 20 people or more and Malaga residents.
Beach
Never leave the town without seeing its wonderful beaches. At least 5 miles of sandy beaches is what Fuengirola is most famous for. It prides itself with 7 beautiful beaches, namely Carvajal, Torreeblanca, Las Gaviotas, Los Boliches, San Francisco, Sta. Amalia and El Egido.
Night Life
When the darkness starts to set in, don’t think that people are getting ready to sleep; they are getting ready to party! Whatever type of music you prefer, there is surely a bar where you can fit in. Night life in Spain starts late, and you can leave your hotel at midnight and still catch most of the fun. Party usually starts an hour before midnight and people only leave when it’s about time for breakfast.
Certainly, you will not run out of things to do in Fuengirola. Even if you just stay in your hotel, you will find good options to pass the time. Many of the top hotels have bars and entertainment centers, swimming pools with sunbathing areas, shops to buy fashion items from and terraces to enjoy the view. It truly is a great place to have a nice holiday, whether you want to do it alone, with a partner or with the entire family!
